About
Guides written by someone who actually goes to these places
Waypoint Yorkshire started from a simple frustration: most travel content online is either a rewritten press release or a generic top-10 list with no real opinion in it. These guides try to do the opposite — a straight answer on whether something's worth your time, written by someone who lives in the region.
How the guides are put together
Every guide starts with the same question a visitor would actually ask: is this worth the ticket price, and what should I expect? We research each attraction thoroughly — official information, visitor accounts, and where possible, first-hand experience — and write with a clear verdict rather than hedging on everything.
How this site makes money
Waypoint Yorkshire earns a small commission when you book through links on this site, via affiliate partnerships including Klook's. This costs you nothing extra — you pay the same price you'd pay booking directly — and it's what keeps the guides free and ad-free. We link to booking partners because they handle payment and fulfilment reliably, not because of the commission itself, and our recommendations aren't influenced by which partner pays more.
Leeds, West Yorkshire
Waypoint Yorkshire is an independent, one-person project covering day trips across York and the wider region. New guides are added as time allows.
